Above Average Driving School's Driver Improvement Program

AAA Driver Improvement Program

Above Average Driving School has certified instructors to teach AAA's Driver Improvement Program to traffic violators and the AAA Drive Wise Program for senior operators. Both programs will include 4 or 8 hour programming and participants will be given a take-home copy of either the AAA Driver Improvement Program Student Guide or the AAA Road Wise Program Student Guide. Classes are usually in-person, however they are currently held virtually due to the pandemic. For virtual classes, participants will have to pay an additional fee for the shipping of the required supplies if necessary.

All defensive driving courses will be taught on Saturdays and Sundays. Call the main office or check our booking website for availability

The content of AAA DIP Material is geared to meet the informational and behavioral needs and interest of at least 4 specific groups including:

First or Minor Traffic Offenders

Drivers who have been referred or elect to participate in the program after a minor traffic offense
Drivers who successfully complete a recognized or approved program may receive traffic violation point reduction or citation dismissal.

Fleet Drivers

Drivers required to attend AAA DIP by your employer.
For example, private company, federal, state or city drivers may be required to complete this program.

Volunteers

Drivers who wish to improve their knowledge and understanding of driving
Drivers who successfully complete AAA DIP may be eligible to receive insurance premium discounts.

Senior Drivers

This course is designed to meet the informational needs and interests of drivers age 55 and older
Drivers who successfully complete the Road Wise program may be eligible to receive insurance premium discounts.

AAA Driver Improvement and Road Wise classes are not court approved and are only eligible for deductions in insurance premiums.
