Saturday Teen Classes

Above Average Driving School has expanded just for Y-O-U. We know how important learning to drive is for teens. With all your activities such as football, cheerleading, and clubs at school, it makes it hard to take Drivers Education. Well, we have a solution for that problem: Saturday teen classes. Saturday teen classes are offered twice a year. Call us to ask about the availability.

Transfers

Due to a high volume of transfer students, we will resume transfer services for teens switching from another driving school in 2022. Please do not book under our adult services. Anyone who does so will be refunded minus a $50 fee.

"What Do I Do Next?"

Above Average Driving School is here to make things as clear as possible for all parents and teens after the 30 hour instruction has been completed.

  • All Teens must attend all classes - 5 days (Monday- Friday) or 5 Saturday classes and pass the final exam with a 80% of higher
  • All Teens must have their eyes checked by our DMV examiner on the scheduled time and date. These dates are usually scheduled once a month. We have no control over this date as they are scheduled by a DMV Examiner and they are limited due to COVID-19.  If you missed a scheduled eye examination, this will prolong your child from completing the 6 hours behind the wheel. All parents will be notified by email of the date and time.  Just show up with the eye form completed that we sent to you during registration.  Parents will not go upstairs with teen for the eye check.  We take a few up at a time, the examiner will keep the form, and we will give it  to the behind the wheel instructor on the first day of their 6 hour training.
  • Parents are required to call the main office on any day after the eye check to receive the behind the wheel instructors name and number they will drive with.  Parents are required to bring their teen to our office for 3 different days, 2 hours each, to complete the 6 hours.
  • Parents will be given a certificate of completion for their teens at the completion of the 6 hours.  Please assure the behind the wheel instructor has the legal name of the teen and correct address.  Any lost certificates will result in an additional fee to replace. They are limited, and numbered by the state.
  • Parents can take teens to the DMV if they are 15 years of age to apply for their learners permit. An exam must be passed at the DMV.
  • Parents should contact the school their teen is currently enrolled in to require a Driver's Eligibility form.  This form will not be given if they are not passing their grades.  This form is needed to accompany a certificate of completion.  If your teen doesn’t have both they will not be allowed to apply for a learners permit.

This is all you need to know. If you have any other questions beyond what we can do, contact the local DMV.
